Following in the footsteps of its European version, the 2022 Toyota RAV4 comes to market with slight design tweaks, an equipment overhaul, which will favor those looking for the economy and performance of the hybrid version.

Specifications

The Toyota RAV4 is the model with the widest mechanical offer in the country. Starting with the entry-level versions, which have a 2.0-liter naturally aspirated L4 engine with 170 hp and 152 lb-ft. It is followed by the Adventure version with a 2.5-liter naturally aspirated L4 engine with 203 hp and 179 lb-ft.

The Hybrid version has a 2.5-liter L4 Atkinson cycle engine, assisted by two electric motors, one of which is exclusive to the rear axle and the other accompanies the gasoline engine on the front axle. Combined power is 220 hp and 163 lb-ft.

The 2.0-liter engine and the hybrid engine have a CVT gearbox. The Adventure version has an eight-speed automatic gearbox with driving modes for off-road tasks, while the Hybrid version has fuel-saving driving modes.

In safety, all models have seven airbags, stability control, ISOFIX anchors and tire pressure monitor. On the other hand, the hybrid version adds the Safety Sense package with autonomous emergency braking, lane assist and automatic high beams.

The equipment includes a screen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. All versions have electric parking brake with auto hold. The Adventure and Hybrid versions have panoramic roof, leather interior and electric tailgate. The 2022 Toyota RAV4 arrives in Nigeria from Japan and prices range from $30,000 to $44,500.
