The fourth-generation of the mid-sized crossover is ready to hit the markets and is built on a new platform called Toyota Global New Architecture (TNGA-K). The new Highlander will be available in five variants – starting with a new L grade, then LE, XLE, Limited and the top-of-line Platinum. The Hybrid is offered in all but the L grade. The Limited and Platinum versions feature Highlander’s first-ever 20-inch alloy wheels. The 2020 Highlander is also 60 mm longer than before, adding more cargo space and leg space for the third row. Premium and sensible features like hands-free rear liftgate, Qi wireless charging in centre console, heated and ventilated front seats, a panaromic moonroof, ambient lighting and split storage trays add to the style, convenience and comfort. 

The Platinum version gets a 12.3-inch touchscreen display entertainment and connectivity system while others get an 8-inch display. The multimedia system also features Apple Car Play, Android Auto, SiriusXM, Wi-Fi connectivity and Alexa Auto.

Equipped with all new intelligent detection systems and drive assist features, the new Highlander is one of the safest vehicles on road. The safety features include Pre-Collision System with Pedestrian Detection (PCS w/PD), Full-Speed Range Dynamic Radar Cruise Control (DRCC), Lane Departure Alert with Steering Assist (LDA w/SA), Automatic High Beam (AHB), Lane Tracing Assist (LTA), Road Sign Assist (RSA), Hill Start Assist Control (HAC), Trailer Sway Control (TSC), Downhill Assist Control (DAC), Enhanced Vehicle Stability Control (VSC),Traction Control (TRAC), Electronic Brake-force Distribution (EBD), Brake Assist (BA), Anti-lock Braking System (ABS), Blind Spot Monitor (BSM), Rear Cross Traffic Alert (RCTA), Intelligent Clearance Sonar (ICS), and Smart Stop Technology (SST). A Bird’s Eye View Camera with Perimeter Scan is available on Limited and standard on Platinum, providing a live rotating 360-degree view around the vehicle.
